Halloween Business Networking
It’s a very happy Halloween from all the team at Simply Business Club.
It’s a time for ghouls and goblins, tricks and treats and probably more sweeties than we should have.
But we don’t have a dentist in any of our networking rooms so we don’t have anyone to tell us of!
But have you ever wondered what would happen if famous Halloween characters and monsters were to attend a business networking meeting?
This spooky team would be both horrifying and brilliant in business networking!
Here’s how we think it would go down…
Picture this: a haunted hotel ballroom dimly lit with flickering chandeliers, spooky background music playing, and a haze of fog curling around the room.
Famous Halloween monsters are mingling, exchanging tips, and trying to make the right connections… but chaos quickly ensues:
Dracula charms the room – and leaves some attendees a bit light-headed.
Dracula swoops in with his usual charisma, captivating everyone in his vicinity with tales of his latest “vampire investment ventures.” Attendees hang on his every word… until they start feeling faint and suspiciously low on blood.Frankenstein’s Monster tries to network – with mixed results.
The Monster is a bit awkward with introductions, and his handshake is almost too firm. After accidentally crushing three phones and knocking over a snack table, he mutters an apology and finds himself cornered by recruiters from the construction industry. The Witch corners people with her “miracle elixirs.”
She’s got a cauldron of herbal brews and tonics she swears will help with productivity, charisma, and even eternal life. However, everyone’s a bit wary after an intern samples one and immediately turns green and grows a few warts. The Mummy tries to exchange business cards but keeps unraveling.
Each handshake or business card exchange causes a bit more unraveling, leaving a trail of ancient wrappings. Frustrated, he shuffles off to re-wrap and avoid any “loose ends.”The Invisible Man eavesdrops shamelessly on everyone’s conversations.
He’s overheard at least five competitors’ confidential strategies by now. Occasionally, people bump into him, but he just mutters an “excuse me” and moves on, quietly stockpiling everyone’s secrets for his own networking advantage. The Headless Horseman struggles with introductions.
Introductions are awkward when you have to carry your head around. After one too many failed attempts to balance his head while handing out business cards, he resorts to simply tossing his head on the table in front of potential connections. While memorable, it’s a bit intimidating. The Phantom of the Opera takes over the stage to give an impromptu “networking” performance.
With a dramatic organ accompaniment, the Phantom begins a powerful monologue on “creativity in the workplace.” He’s convinced he’s made a lasting impact, but most of the crowd is too uncomfortable to make eye contact. The Grim Reaper has people nervously avoiding his table.
He’s calm and approachable, but people instinctively tense up when they see him coming their way. As he makes a beeline to hand someone his card, they often mumble an excuse and speed-walk to the bathroom, leaving the Reaper wondering if he’s “a bit too intense.”The Werewolf can’t help himself at the catering table.
When he catches the scent of rare steak, the Werewolf has to put all his energy into not tearing it apart with his claws. The more intense his craving gets, the more attendees back away, whispering that maybe he’s not quite suited for corporate life. The Zombie gets confused and follows the wrong people around.
Not realizing that following someone to the bathroom isn’t a good look, the Zombie trails people around the room, mumbling his rehearsed networking line: “I… am… interested… in… opportunities…” Eventually, someone gently guides him to the snack table, where he zones out, gnawing on crackers.
Ultimately, the night ends in a strange mix of admiration, fear, and confusion as the monsters leave business cards in unique places and try to plan their next steps.
At least a few attendees leave convinced they’ve made the most unforgettable (and unnerving) networking connections of their careers!
But back in the real world, you’ll experience no such horrors if you attend a Simply Business Club networking meeting.
